When people forgive, they do it to forget. But do we really want to forget? Do we want to forget what this person did to us so it can happen again? No. When forgiving someone it can be difficult. It’s hard to face the person who hurt you; who you thought you trusted, and say, “I forgive you.”
You and the person who hurt you, will move on, but you have to remember what this person did to you and keep the memory. If you forget, you tell yourself and everyone else that it never happened. Instead of forgive and forget, forgive and learn.
